Chapter 14 - This chapter is about when thy got to New Braunfels and see different houses. Thy meet John O. Meusebach. They asked him questions about the Verein and why did not come to get them. Then, they saw some Verein soldiers marching and singing. Then, Anna and Mina go to get acorns as a substitution for corn to grind. They meet an indian man, woman, and a girl. Mina and the girl trade Mina's hair for the girl's beaded belt. Then, Mina goes to Papa. What was interesting in this chapter was when Mina met the indians. What I did not like was when Anna left Mina with the indians.
Chapter 15 - This chapter was about when the Verein soldiers meet the indians. Everyone was scared. Then, one of the soldiers and one of the indians both shoot a black bear. Everyone was surprised when the indian recognized Mina. Then, they ate the bear's meat. In this chapter I like when Mina recognizes the indian. What I did not like was when they shot the black bear.
Chapter 16 - This chapter is when Mina, Papa, and their neighbors all built a house for Papa and Mina. Anna and Mina go to get fresh water for everyone to drink. Then, Papa poured water in his head. All the men started acting like a bunch of schoolboys at their pranks again. They finally finished the house, and Mina put in the new house the clock that Opa had given them. Then, Papa tells Mina that they need money to buy a milk cow, so he is going to New Braunfels to haul supplies for the Verein. Mina then has to stay with the Kaufmann family. I did not like when Papa had to leave Mina with the Kaufmann's. What I like was that they finally finished their house.

in chapter 16 it is about how papa and the kaufmans help build houses and schools when they arrive in New Braunfels.

in chapter 15 the soliders went into indian territory and shot a black bear, they also realized that the leader had the locks of hair that Mina gave to the little indian girl.

Papa went away to go and get paid so that they could have some money so she had to live with the bickenbachs. The next day they went to school and Mina said that it was just like the school n Germany.

When papa got home from work his temprature was really high lie he had feaver. So Mina ran to the doctors office and said to put on a wet rag on his forehead. At night when he was dreaming Mina realized he was rehapsing the day when Minas mother died.

In chapter 17 I liked how Lisette was like a mother. I liked how Lisette gave Mina her old night gown. That was very nice of her. In chapter 18 even though the docter coudnt help her father I liked how she knew there was a cure for her fathers sickness. I liked how Mina cared for her father. I liked how she acted like a mother caring for her father. In chapter 19 I liked how Lisette stayed with Minas father while she went to get the medicine man. I liked how she didnt want to loose her father. So she wanted to do whatever it takes to help him. In chapter 19 I liked how Mina went to go get the Shaman (medicine man) and he cured her father. I liked how they would be a family again. A Paradise Called Texas was a great book!!!
